Despite of many numerous attempts, Fiat India failed to ramp up the dipping sales. The auto giant is all set to launch the revamped versions of Fiat Punto hatchback and Fiat Linea sedan. The facelifted Punto and Linea are expected to be launched on January 3, 2012. The big question is, if the revamped versions are going to be a thorough makeover or just superficial touches here and there.

But the information here, seems to point out to more on the launch of newer variants on the two cars with a possibility of a couple of added features on the existing variants as well. A drop in price could be expected as well to push the sales of the cars. A leak from here and there suggests an addition of company logos on a higher side and addition of rear headrests for the passenger comfort, just like in Nissan Micra. Apparently, the engines of the car will remain untouched. On the downside, the much anticipated Fiat Bravo is not on the intended line-up for India.

The test runs for the car in the Indian weather conditions seem to come out negative making it impossible for the India launch. If launched, the Bravo would be placed above the Punto and Linea in the country. Moreover, as the rumour has it, Fiat Motors is not going to take part in the 2012 Auto Expo to be held at New Delhi early next year. This could be the reason, why the auto major has brought the launch date of the upgraded version forward against the Auto Expo launch, as it happens usually.
