First half year not good but second: DMD Toyota

Toyota Kirloskar Deputy Managing Director Mr Sandeep Singh expected car sales during the frist half might not be that good, but he expect better sales during the second half. Addressing a press conference after the launch of Express Maintenance Service Mr singh told the reporters that sales during the frirst quarter of 2009 had grown 20 per cent comparing to the fourth quarter of 2008. He said that inventory levels indicated that the automobile industry was showing some signs of revival. he said. In 2008, Toyota Kirloskar sold about 52,000 units, which was 6 per cent less than the previous year. Toyota Kirloskar’s Managing Director, Mr Hiroshi Nakagawa, explained that the new service will be offered through 45 dealers at start. The number will be increased to 155 dealerships by the time the compact car is launched in end 2010. The Express Maintenance Service provides a one-hour periodic maintenance service.
