However, Gujrat plant to manufacture Tata Nano has not started so far. 96-year-old Homai Vyarawala, India's first woman photo-journalist, has allotted the first Nano by a Tata Motors dealer of Vadodara. Vyarawala is happy that she is the first one to get the worlds cheapest car. She was not very sure that she would be lucky enough to get one of the first Nanos to be allotted. She said that she had a Fiat for some 55 years which was sold as Fiat needed a lot of maintinance work to be done. The first Nanos has been allotted to her through a lucky draw. She informed that she had been given a letter authorised by Debasish Roy, chief of communications for Tata Motors, confirming that she would be getting a Nano. Vyarawala said tha she was not overwhelmed that she is the first one to get the Nano but pretty happy that her transportation need is fulfilled as she was searching for a small car. She explained that she lived alone and needed a car to go to the market so that could carry heavy bags in car.
