The mid-cycle update of the second-generation Ford Endeavour will have a revised face and is expected to add more goodies to its already lengthy equipment list!
Ford has begun testing the mid-cycle update/facelift of the second-generation Endeavour, which was recently spied testing in Australia.
The American automaker has its Asia Pacific Product Development Centre there as well. And the Endeavour is the brainchild of the same!
A Quick Recap Of The Second-Gen Model!
The Endeavour (known as the ‘Everest’ in all neighbouring markets) made its world debut in China on November 13, 2014, and went on sale in nine markets in the following year.
Though it was expected to go on sale In India in the second-half of 2015, Ford launched the new Endeavour on January 20, 2016, days before the 2016 Auto Expo. Launched in 2015, the Endeavour has been on sale in the neighbouring markets for two years now and is due for a mid-cycle update by 2018.
The updated model is expected to be revealed next year and is likely to be introduced in India by as early as late 2018 or early 2019.
What’s Expected To Be New?
The Endeavour/Everest has a pickup truck counterpart, the Ranger, just like the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the MU-X. However, the Ranger is not retailed in India.
The Ranger is a renowned nameplate in the USA and will make its return after discontinuation in 2011. The USA-spec Ranger is expected to be based on a modified version of the current Endeavour/Ranger’s platform.
It is believed that the US-spec Ranger’s front fascia will be inspired from the venerable Ford F-150 pickup truck. Now, the interesting bit is that the Endeavour/Ranger facelifts are expected to adorn similar styling as well.

There will be subtle differences compared to the North America-bound Ranger, but the grille is expected to be in line with the F-150’s.

All the three vehicles are currently being tested in Australia. Only the front profile of the Endeavour was under wraps indicating that the rear profile is unlikely to be revised just like the upcoming EcoSport facelift. Any mechanical changes are unlikely as well.
The current Ford Endeavour has outdone its arch rival, the Toyota Fortuner, when it comes to features on offer. And the facelift is expected to add more goodies to its already lengthy equipment list.
