Ford EcoSport Facelift Spied in US

Ford EcoSport Facelift has been spied testing in the United States. The car was covered with a veil and thus, changes could not be fully noticed.

While the front fascia of the 2017 EcoSport was hidden, speculations are there that the American company will come with an update for the front grille. It is most likely to come close to the Ford Edge’s grille. Apart from that, rumors are spread that the car will get modified headlights and will change in terms of interiors too.

Ford recently introduced a sound deadening material as a major update to its car apart from the four-inch color display. The American version of the car also gets a wheel mounted at the rear unlike the European version. Engine is least likely to get updated and chances are more that Ford carries on with its previous powertrains. While its 1.0L EcoBoost engine can deliver a maximum power of 123 hp, 1.5L petrol can deliver 110 hp and 1.5-liter diesel with 99 hp. The car with EcoBoost engine is likely to get launched in UK by 2016.

EcoSport has achieved spectacular success in the Indian market where it currently competes with the likes of Creta and Duster (Read detailed comparison). The car spied has also increased speculations that it would be first released in the United States. The launch is expected in the end of 2016 or in early 2017.
