Right from the beginning Ford Motors has been throwing hints leaving us to catch as to what could be the Ford EcoSport price and its position in the Ford's line-up in India. The compact SUV EcoSport is based on the Ford B-Car platform, which it shares with the Ford Fiesta sedan. Except for probably this common point, the two cars are separated by huge turf widening the gap in between. However it is believed that EcoSport and the new Fiesta sedan will co-exist in the domestic car market.

The craze for the compact SUVs is on a huge rise which is topped with the strikingly attractive design lines of Ford EcoSport we have already caught a glimpse of which at the recently concluded Indian Auto Expo. The design philosophy is not only catchy but likely to snatch the market share right under the nose of any toughest competitors in the segment, even Maruti XA Alpha compact SUV concept which was also a part of the same show. The credit however goes to the Ford’s Chief designer J.Mays who has stepped up in time to receive the limelight he deserves and conjured up the model just at the right time when Ford is looking for a break. Ford EcoSport SUV has the potential to stand out among the rest with its unique body styling which is tempting inside out. The hexagonally shaped LED lamps encased within the similarly shaped headlamps doubles the charm of the powerful SUV. The Ford EcoSport has every reason to emerge out to be a winner with the strong muscular looks despite its compact form and the matching hexagonally shaped grille which only emphasizes the character of the compact SUV.

The fog lamps look far more evident then we usually get to see and right from the visibly prominent wheel arches to the strong creases on the sides of the SUV as if rippling with strength and the contrasting bumper design are all required to set the compact SUV segment on fire. The heavy alloy wheels to the turn indicators integrated external side rear view mirrors are a complete deviation from the Fords usual design philosophy, where the latter is endowed with dual color combination to match the rest of the exciting looks. The roof top again converges to the black color to give just about the right finishing touch to the overall car exteriors. The looks are just one side of the coin while the other side is equally balanced by the 1.0 L Ford’s all new EcoSport gasoline engine debuting for the first time in the passenger car segment.
The high fuel efficiency and the 120 Bhp power and 170 Nm torque are all enough to get the ball rolling for the compact SUV. The compact SUV may also come in diesel engine and if that happens then it could be powered with a 1.5 L Ford Fiesta diesel engine. Somebody has well said that it is difficult to believe in something as good as this to be true. But all we can do is hope for the best to come and cross our fingers to see if the Ford EcoSport is just as perfect by the time it launches in India by Diwali, which is when the auto major has promised to deliver it unspoilt.
