The Sport variant of the Endeavour sits between its Trend and Titanium variants in the global market

  • Endeavour is also known as Everest in foreign markets.

  • Sport variant gets the black treatment for bumper, roof rails, wheels, ORVMs and window surrounds.

  • There is a new Deep Crystal Blue shade on offer.

  • Sport variant will sit below the top-spec Titanium variant globally.

Ford’s Endeavour is also known as the Everest in foreign markets. One of these markets is Australia where the American carmaker has introduced a new Sport variant of the SUV. It sits between the Trend and Titanium variants, and adds a few design elements to the Endeavour.

As part of the Sport variant, the Endeavour (Everest) is offered with a new black grille, with ‘Everest’ spelled out on the bonnet. It also gets more black elements such as the lower half of the bumper, wing mirrors, window surrounds and roof rails.

On top of that, Ford has given the Sport variant of the global-spec SUV’s 20-inch wheels a dark finish like the rest of the exterior. There’s also a unique ‘Sport’ badging and to top it off, the American carmaker has thrown in a new Deep Crystal Blue colour. This colour scheme will be present inside the cabin as well, though we don’t yet have pictures of the same.

In Australia, the Endeavour (Everest) is offered with either a 3.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine or a 2.0-litre bi-turbo, and the Sport variant is available for both engine configurations. That is good news for us in India as the 3.2-litre engine is the same unit that we get here. If Ford is offering it on the Sport variant in Australia, we Indians might just get lucky.

There has been no official word from Ford about this but we are hopeful about the Sport variant coming to India. This is because the Endeavour’s chief rival in India is the Toyota Fortuner and the Japanese carmaker had done a similar thing with the Fortuner.

If the Sport variant of the Endeavour does come to India, it would be priced below the Titanium variant of the SUV, which starts at Rs 28.20 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). It will be a great option for those looking to bring home an Endeavour without emptying their bank account.
