Ford Endeavour to get a makeover

Ford India seems to bet high on the SUV segment for India. The compact SUV Ford Ecosport is slated for a launch at the 2012 Auto Expo anyway. Now, Ford also has a larger SUV on cards, an all-new Ford Endeavour. This is one thorough out and out makeover Ford has planned for the new Ford Endeavour. The SUV is likely to send the shivers down the spine of its closest rival upcoming new Toyota Fortuner. One glance at the 2012 Ford Endeavour will make you wonder if it is the same SUV we are looking at.

That big is the makeover this time. Gone is the dull outdated bulky image of the SUV replaced with a well-toned in proportioned look. The grille looks more refined overriding the wide-toothed look from the outgoing model. Overall, the size of the SUV looks outgrown with longer chassis endowing more interior space especially in the middle. The passengers sitting in the third row are for sure to feel the improved legroom space. The dashboard has undergone a good measure of improvement with a cabin large enough to dump many more essentials into it. The center console and the instrument panel is literally fraught with all the latest gizmos to suit the recent crop of generation.

If one flays out the exteriors skin, the real makeover is under the hood. Two engine options, both in diesel are offered this time on the SUV. One, a little modest than the one in the outgoing model a 2.2 L engine that neatly replaces the 2.5 L motor. This engine is no compromise either with a good 148 Bhp power generating motor. The higher capacity engine 3.2 L gives some jaw-dropping performance. The power is good enough with a 198 Bhp, but its is the torque that leaves you awe-struck with a 48 kgm on the board.
