After the next generation Figo (KA) revealing, the first production spec nex-gen Figo based compact sedan known as KA+ in Brazil has started hovering the Internet. If the Indian counterpart uses the similar nomenclature, will it be known as Figo+ then? Only time will answer that. In Brazil, this car will be over 4m but to attract a lower price in India, Figo+ will be pushed under 4m. Furthermore, both the Brazilian and Indian versions will share the overall design. The KA and KA+ will be launched soon in Brazil, Indian debut is likely be slated early next year.
After robbing the compact SUV segment with the EcoSport, the 'Blue Oval' is all set to enter the hottest segment in the country today- entry level sub-4m sedan category. The last month fiasco was enough to analyze that this is the hottest selling segment in the country, Dzire surpasses Swift & Alto as India's largest selling car. The second position in the compact sedan segment is grabbed by Xcent while the Amaze is at third. Tata will soon launch Zest in the segment. Lets see what difference does Ford creates when this car enters the market.
Ford Figo compact sedan production spec changes
- At the outset, unlike the hatch's honey combed grille, the compact sedan features a premium chrome slated inverted trapezoidal grille.
- The new Figo features a blacked-out headlight while the sedan sports chromed ones. The grille and the headlamps distinguishes the sedan from the hatch.
- Just like the hatch, expect the sedan to boast 14-15 inch radial depending upon the variant.
- Not much has changed at the rear from the concept, tail lamps mimics the ones in the hatch with subtle changes. Certainly, this is the best looking vehicle in this segment.
- In the hatch revealing, Ford only stuck to exteriors, but this time we got a lil glimpse of the interiors too. It is expected that the duo will share the interiors.
- The central console looks similar to the one in the new Fiesta.
- The instrumentation cluster looks basic, though the car features multi-function steering which is missing in the current Figo (it comes with mounted controls).
- The sedan features chrome inserts around the interiors.
- The duo are also expected to get trendy features from the EcoSport like 'SYNC' powered audio system, AppLink connectivity, voice controls, etc.
- The sedan is likely to share the powertrains with the nex-gen Ford Figo.
