The Figo facelift is likely to feature the same set of engines as the newly launched Ford Aspire facelift
At the launch of the Ford Aspire, company officials confirmed to CarDekho that it will launch the compact sedan’s hatchback sibling, the Figo, in the first quarter of 2019. The Figo facelift, also known as the Ka+ in Europe and Brazil, was revealed more than six months ago.
The Figo facelift borrows a slew of design elements from the recently launched Aspire, including a prominent honeycomb mesh grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers and bigger 15-inch alloy wheels.
It should get a similar set of features like the 2018 Aspire, which gets rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, climate control, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Sync 3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also likely to get a reverse camera. In terms of safety features, expect it to be equipped with dual airbags, rear parking sensors and ABS with EBD as standard. The top-spec Titanium variant, on the other hand, will get six airbags. The automatic variant, if Ford plans to offer it, will get driver aids such as HLA (hill launch assist), ESP (electronic stability program) and TCS (traction control system).

Expect the Figo to be powered by the same set of engines as the 2018 Aspire - two petrol engines and diesel motor. The petrol engines are from Ford’s latest Dragon series. Both the 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre engines are three cylinder units. But while the 1.2-litre engine will only be offered with a new Getrag-sourced 5-speed manual gearbox which debuted with the Freestyle, the 1.5-litre motor will only be available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox borrowed from the EcoSport. The diesel engine, on the other hand, will be the same 1.5-litre unit, 4-cylinder unit seen in older version of the hatchback.
When launched, the Ford Figo facelift will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ignis. Expect Ford to launch the hatchback with an introductory price lower than the current price tag, like it did with the Aspire. Hence, we expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 4.75 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh, depending on the variants and powertrain.
