Ford EcoSport Compact SUV is no doubt one of the most awaited vehicles of the year, and the excitement for the car is only increasing with the launch coming near. Like CarDekho reported earlier that the EcoSport would launch sometime in April, Ford India has now given further hints on the same. Ford India has recently tweeted that they will make a ‘big announcement’ soon, and who can deny that they were talking about the EcoSport.
Ford India tweets, “We are all set for the big announcement very soon. So hold onto this space for more!” So, we are expecting the company to soon announce the official launch date and initiate the bookings, however some Ford dealers across India have started taking pre-orders for a token amount of around Rs 50,000. One more thing that further confirms that the launch is actually near is the fact that Ford India’s workshop staff has already gone through the training session to carry out the post sales operations comfortably.
The recently launched Renault Duster is the closest competitor of the vehicle globally, so as in India, where the Duster has been doing superb in terms of sales. And we would all agree that the EcoSport has got all what it takes to be a strong contender in the growing compact SUV segment, but the pricing will be the major factor to decide its destiny in India.
Ford EcoSport Compact SUV will have three engine options- a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo diesel and the award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. We have also learned from our close sources that the company is also planning to launch an automatic version of the car to offer more options to its buyers. The EcoSport automatic is most likely to have the similar dual-clutch automatic gearbox known as powershift, which is said to be the cheapest dual-clutch gearbox in the world.
Stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the upcoming Ford EcoSport. Cheers!
