Indian arm of the American auto major Ford, sold 13,742 vehicles in the month of September, up against 14,217 vehicles sold in the same month last year. This tally includes combined domestic wholesales and exports in the month. Company's exports grew to 6,956 vehicles from 3,577 vehicles a year ago, while domestic wholesales stood at 6,786 units, as compared to 10,640 units sold in the corresponding month previous year.
“Last year we ushered in the festive season with overwhelming customer response to our capable, urban SUV Ford EcoSport. Since then, the EcoSport has remained the most compelling choice for discerning buyers. And now, with improved supplies, we have opened bookings again and significantly shortened our delivery commitments to customers ensuring that they can bring home an EcoSport this festive season,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India.
In a bid to attract more buyers during the upcoming festive season, Ford refreshed its Figo hatchback in the mid of last month. Priced at INR 3.87 lakh for the base petrol and INR 4.83 lakh for the diesel, Figo now comes with gun-metal color 14-inch alloys and integrated blinkers on ORVMs in terms of exterior changes. While on the inside, satin-aluminum interior finish along with new dual-tone upholstered seats marks their entry.
Talking about the new Figo, Mehrotra said, “The Figo continues to be an integral part of our product portfolio in India. With the recent upgrade, we have enhanced Figo’s appeal to younger consumers while ensuring customers get the most value for their money.”
