Ford to Retail its First Hybrid Car in UK from December

The Blue Oval manufacturer Ford has started the production of its all-new Ford Mondeo Hybrid in Spain to be retailed in Europe. It will be the first hybrid electric car built and sold by Ford in Europe. The Mondeo Hybrid is coupled with 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Ford Mondeo was first made available in 1993 and since then the automaker retailed the car to more than 14 lac customers across the UK. The all new model is manufactured at the Ford’s state-of-the-art plant in Valencia, Spain.

Under the hood, Ford Mondeo is offered with a widest-ever range of powertrain options such as Ford’s new 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol and fuel efficient 2.0-litre TDCi diesel. With the pricing of Mondeo Hybrid similar to diesel models, the car promises to give fuel-efficiency-minded customers the power of choice. The hybrid car delivers a fuel efficiency of 67.3 mpg (combined), reaching 100.9 mpg for urban driving and 99 g/km CO2 emissions.

The all-new Ford Mondeo Hybrid will be available in UK from December with a price tag of £24,995 (Standard conversation- INR 24.36 lac) which is same as its 2.0-litre diesel Mondeo Titanium Powershift five-door equivalent.
