GM's S-Koria Unit to recall Chevrolet Captiva and Cruze

General Motors, Us based world's second largest car maker has recall a total of 60,000 units of its Chevrolet Captiva and Cruze models at its South Korean unit. According to Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs of the country, the Daewoo Auto & Technology will recall 45,957 of the Captiva, which were sold as Winstorm in South Korean market. The main reason of this recall is claimed to be the fault with steering systems of the vehicle.
The company will recall its SUV Chevrolet Captiva which were made between April 1, 2006 and December 31, 2007, as per the ministry statement. Besides this the company will also recall about 12,604 of Chevrolet Cruze sedan which were sold Lacetti Premiere in domestic market. Company received complains about defects in fuel supply pipes of Captiva models, manly manufactured between September 25, 2009 and March 2, 2010.
GM plans to recall the models with the problems in other countries. But every country has different rules and standards and each GM operation will decide the size and timing of recalls of those cars depending on their own situations, as per a company official.
However, the GM Daewoo officials declined to comment on the question of costs and time period of recall.
