Porsche, the German luxury carmaker will launch the GTS variant of its Boxster S convertible and Cayman S Sports Coupe by the mid of 2014 in U.K while entry to the Indian shores is expected to be around the year end. The GTS version of Convertible and Sports Coupe will join the ongoing model line-up of Cayman GTS and Boxster GTS as the bookings for the new models have already started. In England, the Boxster GTS is priced at 52,879 pounds (Rs 53 lakh) while the Cayman S Sports Coupe GTS comes with a price tag of 55,397 pounds (Rs 56 lakh).
Boxer S convertible GTS is now offered with a 330bhp engine with an upgraded strong chassis tuned with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) fitted as a standard feature. First launched in 1994, the Boxster is always a favorite among car enthusiasts and now with the GTS tag, the fast becomes the furious. Such an enormous power comes straight from 3.4-litre engine mated to manual six-speed transmission. The convertible is capable of achieving a top speed of 280kmph.
Moving on to the Cayman S Sports, the coupe that first saw the day light in the year 2005 is now offered with the high performing GTS mark. The 3.4-litre, six-cylinder, boxer-type-engine in the Cayman GTS is same as that of Cayman S, but the difference lies in the fine tunning that now delivers a power of 340bhp, an increment of 15bhp. Feature wise the coupe now includes Sport Chrono package and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The car can achieve an acceleration of 0 to 100kmph in about 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 284kmph.
