Hyundai Exter is set to be launched on July 10, and could be priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards

The Indian cricket all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Hyundai Exter, which is an upcoming micro SUV from Hyundai and is set to be launched on July 10. According to Hyundai, the Exter complements the lively lifestyle of Gen Z, and Hardik, as a youth icon and an all-rounder is a perfect match for the upcoming micro SUV.
The cricketer will be involved in future marketing campaigns organised by Hyundai for its upcoming micro SUV, the Exter. Hyundai has also released a video of the Exter with Hardik Pandya giving a closer look of the micro SUV from the outside.
The Complete Design
With Hyundai revealing the series of teasers for the Exter, we now know the complete design of the micro SUV. From the front, the Exter gets H-shaped LED DRLs with headlights mounted below on the bumper. The Exter carries an upright stance from the front, which continues throughout its profile and at the rear end too. On the back side too, the Exter comes with H-shaped LED taillamps, similar to the front.

Some Segment First Features
Though Hyundai has not yet revealed or even given a glimpse of the interior, the carmaker has already discussed some key features of the Exter through teasers. The micro SUV will be equipped with first in segment dual dash cam and voice assisted single pane sunroof. We also expect the Exter to come equipped with a bigger infotainment display, digital driver’s display, cruise control, wireless phone charging and automatic climate control.
Passenger safety will be taken care of by six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, and 3-point seat belts and reminders for all five seats, rear parking camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
What Will Propel It?
For the propulsion duties, the Exter will employ two engine options: a 1.2-litre engine paired to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT in petrol guise, and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in a CNG configuration.

The Contenders
Hyundai will offer its micro SUV in five broad variants: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Expected to be priced from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, the Exter will take the fight with Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Fronx.
