The compact SUV will receive its first major update since it was launched four years ago

Update (04/07/23): The 2023 Kia Seltos has been unveiled in India.

Facelifted Kia Seltos Front

  • New Seltos will get a redesigned interior with a new climate control panel and dual-zone AC.

  • Should also get dual-integrated 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen system and instrument cluster.

  • Will be the second compact SUV to get the radar-based ADAS technology.

  • To get a new, more powerful 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with manual and automatic transmissions.

  • Prices are expected to start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).

The facelifted Kia Seltos has been spied yet again, this time giving us a glimpse of its interior. The entire dashboard styling cannot be seen, but the climate control panel is clearly visible, confirming a new and important convenience feature.

The spy shot shows the new climate control panel with new switches. The SYNC button and temperature control buttons on either side of the panel confirm that the Seltos facelift will offer dual-zone climate control. You can further spot the audio controls, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera switch on the buttons around the drive selector of this spied automatic variant.

This new climate control panel certainly looks more premium than that of the outgoing Seltos, but also not the same as the one on the global facelift. We can also tell that the central AC vents have been redesigned, similar to the globally offered Seltos, making it more likely that the dashboard has been updated to feature an integrated dual screen setup with 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment unit and instrument cluster.

Just like the outgoing version, the facelifted Kia Seltos seems to be covered in a dual-tone black and beige shade. This could be one of the regular variants, while the top-spec GT line trim might retain its all-black theme. Safety will be enhanced by the presence of radar-based ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology.

Just like the interior will be refreshed, the exterior design will also be updated. Going by some recently leaked spy shots, the front and rear profiles of the SUV will look more stylish. The overall silhouette will be the same as earlier, but we can spot new single-tone alloy wheels.

Powertrain options will remain unchanged, retaining the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine was discontinued sometime back, and will be replaced by a more powerful 160PS 1.5-litre unit as offered with the Carens. All the three engines will get the choice of an automatic transmission.

We’re expecting the Kia Seltos facelift to retail from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the bigshots like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and upcoming contenders like the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross
