Over the last two months we have been bringing you constant updates on the much awaited Brio based diesel sedan, the Honda Amaze sedan. Now here is another bit of exiting news; the Honda Amaze will house Honda’s new, all aluminium 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine. Yes, this is the same engine that is to power all of Honda India’s future diesel cars like the Honda City, Jazz and their upcoming MPV.
Additionally we have also received reports that the Honda Amaze will be launched by April of the year 2013 after its Thailand launch on the 23rd of this month. What’s more, the Honda Amaze price tag is expected to be quite competitive because it will be largely locally produced. The Amaze will first come in a manual transmission variant and then later on, an automatic transmission variant will be introduced.
A few select members of the press were recently invited to Japan to meet the Honda Amaze and test it. The Amaze has an increased wheelbase of 50mm and the overall length is 3990mm making the Honda Amaze sub 4-meters. Stay tuned to CarDekho as we bring you more updates on what the Honda Amaze is all about.
CarDekho has been fortunate to be amongst the first ones to drive the Honda's first ever diesel vehicle, Honda Amaze. Read Honda Amaze Expert Review here.
