Update: All the wait and the anticipation came to an end with Honda finally unveiling its debut compact SUV BR-V that is set to take on the likes of Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Ford Ecosport and Nissan Terrano in India. The compact SUV segment is already quite competitive but Honda BR-V with its stunning appearance and an impressive set of interior features, has the right ingredients to take its competitors on. With two engine variants of petrol and diesel, Honda BRV holds an edge over other compact SUVs with a third foldable seat. Know more about this new Crossover revealed at Auto Expo.
Honda’s much awaited compact SUV, the BR-V will be showcased at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo. It is based on the same platform as the Amaze, Brio and the Mobilio but Honda’s design team have given it a very upright and raised stance which makes it look like a buffed up cross-over.

It is expected to come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine, as seen in the Amaze, Mobilio and the City and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission producing similar power and torque figures as well. Mileage figures are expected to be over 20 kmpl for the diesel engine. A CVT automatic gearbox is also highly anticipated in the BR-V which will use Honda’s Earth Dreams technology.
Along with the BR-V, Honda’s premium sedan, the Accord will also make an official comeback at the Auto Expo. It will be powered by petrol (2.4-liter i-VTEC motor) and hybrid powertrains which will put it in direct competition with the Toyota Camry Hybrid. We can expect the car to be loaded on the inside with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system which will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.
