The much-awaited Honda BR-V SUV launch has finally commenced in India with the starting of the digital teaser campaign. This Creta rival will go on sale from May 2016 and the stage is being set for the same. Under the new digital teaser campaign #WhereNextWithBRV, the Japanese automaker will showcase the potential of the BR-V in varied terrains and locales. The campaign will subsequently go through popular digital media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as well as the official website of the company.
The journey of the campaign started with the slogan “Where do you want to go next with BR-V?” and the next 20 days will be crucial for its success. The new BR-V SUV will be made to traverse the harsh terrains of the countryside, including curvaceous mountains and dirt tracks. Also, to create a bond with the potential customers, the company has invited everybody to suggest locations to test the BR-V.
Already launched in Asian markets such as Indonesia and Thailand, the Honda BR-V has really impressed us with its muscular looks at the Auto Expo. Moreover, the recent crash test results have further indicated (as safety is a big concern in the country) that it could instantly gain the trust of the consumers.
Moving on to the specs, the car will get the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine options. The petrol one produces 119PS while the diesel mill generates 100PS output. These engines are already powering the bestselling City sedans and we hope these mills would be on par in terms of fuel efficiency as well. Our expectations from the petrol engine are rather high, and we expect it to help the BR-V have the edge over its rivals.
Commenting on the overall campaign idea Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales said “Core idea behind the “#WhereNextWithBRV” campaign is to showcase how BR-V offers the opportunity to explore whatever, wherever, whenever. We wanted to create a memorable journey of the Honda BR-V traveling to picturesque locales and inspiring scenes. Be it a city drive or a weekend getaway to the hills, Honda BR-V is the perfect car to take anywhere.”
The BR-V combines a bold, sporty appearance with great utility and a spacious cabin. But the things that remain hidden are the pricing and a few other details that are exclusive to the Indian market. When launched, expect the new Honda BR-V to be placed in the price bracket of Rs. 10–14 lakhs. It will square off against the Hyundai Creta, the Maruti S-Cross and the Renault Duster in the segment.
Honda has created some brilliant products in recent times and prospective customers are expecting the same from the newcomer as well. For the time being, check out these stunning pictures of the Honda BR-V and let us know your thoughts about the car in the comments below.
