Honda takes Initiative to Help Chennai Flood Victims

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has come forward to help its customers who are residents of Chennai to cope up with the aftermath of Chennai floods. The company has decided to help its customers in numerous ways which include 10% cut on spare parts and discount on services like labour charges and value added services.

Taking responsibility for the relief work, Mr. Katsushi Inoue, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, "We understand the gravity of the situation in Chennai where a large number of our customers' cars have been completely or partially submerged in water. We are making all the efforts to support our customers to have their cars repaired as swiftly as possible."

The Japanese company has also said that it will be offering loyalty points of up to Rs 20,000 to the existing customers if they buy a new Honda car. Taking cognisance of the point that a large number of cars have been affected by the floods, the carmaker is giving an exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000 to customers who are willing to exchange their old car with a new one.

The automaker has also volunteered to bear the transportation charges for its parts, in case they are to be air-lifted and delivered at some other place.

Honda has re-energised its whole team, including people at dealerships to the ones dealing with insurance companies to provide the maximum help to the affected customers.

The initiative from the Japanese company comes at a time when various corporate companies, like Maruti Suzuki, are also trying their best to control the destruction caused by the waters.
