With a few days left until its launch, Hyundai has revealed the variant lineup of the upcoming Elantra facelift along with the colour options that it will be offered in. The new Elantra features sharper-styling details and a revised rear-end design.
Hyundai will offer in the Elantra facelift in three variants: S, SX and SX (O). The base-spec S variant misses out on the 6-speed automatic transmission option while the top-spec SX(O) variant does not come with the 6-speed manual gearbox. It is only the SX variant which gets choice of both the transmission options.
The five colour options for the 2019 Elantra are: Phantom Black, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White and Typhoon Silver. In terms of features, Hyundai will offer the BlueLink connected car tech in the new Elantra like the Venue.

In terms of styling changes, the Elantra gets a completely revised front that includes a bigger single-piece grille and triangle-shaped headlamps. At the rear, Hyundai has revised the tailgate of the Elantra and now places the number plate in the bumper. The sharp-looking tail lamps are also a part of the extensive styling changes that have been made to the sedan.
A BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol unit will likely be offered on the Elantra facelift which produces 152PS of max power and 192Nm of peak torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or torque converter transmission options. Though Hyundai has not mentioned anything about a diesel unit, it may offer the Seltos’ BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel powertrain in the Elantra in the future.
Hyundai will launch the Elantra facelift on October 3 this year and has opened bookings for the same. The current pricing of the Elantra ranges from Rs 13.82 lakh to Rs 18.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and we expect the facelifted Elantra to charge a premium of Rs 25,000 more. After its launch, it will continue to rival the likes of the Skoda Octavia, Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis.
