At present, while the Korean auto brand is directly targeting the best-selling hatchback Maruti Alto in the segment, the other rival from Maruti India is going to be the new version of Maruti 800 which is likely to be launched by next year. Hyundai EON is supposed to be launched in both petrol and LPG variants, restricting the diesel engines to the high-end models of Hyundai India. Hyundai Motors, which is popular for its entry-level cars is expecting to make use of the current sluggish car market to its benefit as during the current economic slowdown, people are more inclined to opt for a good value for money proposition in terms of car purchase.
