The new upcoming hatchback being made under the Hyundai's fleet christened Hyundai H800 has been sneaked yet again near Chennai. The small car is all set to rival the czars of the hatchback segment Tata Nano, Maruti Alto and the new Maruti 800 which is yet to be launched in the Indian car market. The new Hyundai H800 hatchback has a cab-forward stance which is quite similar to Hyundai i10. Contemplating the strong shoulder line and severely raked A- and C-pillars of the hatchback it could be inferred that the new Hyundai H800 will be endowed with the Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture' design which has a lot of sharp cuts.

Rumor has it that Hyundai H800 price will fall in the range of Rs2 to Rs3 lakhs in order to compete with the small car wizard Tata Nano. With this aggressive pricing the company envisages to capture the hatchback segment toppling small cars like Maruti Alto and Tata Nano. It is being highly speculated that the new Hyundai H800 will be based on the Hyundai Santro hatchback, which costs a meager amount to the company. Along with this Hyundai might also consider leveraging its localized powertrain. Hyundai H800 will be affixed with a 814cc three cylinder version of Epsilon engine which is used in Hyundai Santro. This engine is capable of producing around 48Bhp, apart from the engine, Hyundai H800 will also be inherited with other traits from Hyundai Santro.
