Hyundai Introduces i20 Sport in Germany!

The Sport version feature Hyundai’s new 1.0-liter Turbo GDi petrol motor and this engine could be offered in India, considering the likely entry of Baleno 1.0-liter BoosterJet
Hyundai has launched i20 Sport in Germany with 1.0-liter Turbo GDi engine. The motor is from Hyundai's new family of turbocharged downsized petrol engines. Available in a single variant, i20 Sport is priced at 19,990 EUR (nearly Rs. 14 lacs). In regard with India, Hyundai may offer this engine in the country, as Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer a similar engine in Baleno. The vehicle was recently caught while being tested with a 1.0-liter BoosterJet recently.
Speaking of the changes in i20 Sport, the vehicle is solely available in Polar White colour scheme. The front bumper gets subtle extensions and it also features new side skirts. The rear bumper gets faux diffuser and chrome muffler tip. Besides all this, it carries features from the regular i20 like projector headlamps with cornering lights and LED daytime running lights. Unlike ours, the international model also comes with LED taillights. On the inside, it features touchscreen multimedia system and all the goodies from its stock counterpart.
The 1.0-liter motor features direct injection and turbocharging. The motor was revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and offers two state of tune - 100 PS and 120 PS. However, I20 Sport comes with 120 PS version and offers a max torque of 171.6 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-Speed manual transmission.
