Hyundai displayed the latest 6 and 7 seater versions of the Santa Fe at the 2012 LA Auto Show. Of course, there is a new Santa Fe already present in the international market; however, that is the 5-seater model unlike the one showcased at the LA Auto Show. However it is unlikely India will get the 6 and 7 seater versions of the Santa Fe, but we are quite likely to attract the 5-seater Hyundai Santa Fe.
Additionally the Santa Fe that debuted at the LA Auto Show attained a 5-star NCAP rating for advancements in safety technology. The 2013 Santa Fe has also grown in dimensions and now features a bigger wheelbase along with an 8.5 inch increase in length, 0.2 inch increase in width and 0.4 inch increase in height. All of these size changes mean increase cabin space and comfort for the passengers .
The 2013 Santa Fe will pack a massive 3.3-litre V6 mill that will generate 290bhp along with 342Nm of peak torque. The engine will transmit power to the drive via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Unfortunately, these very specifications make this version of the Santa Fe unsuitable for Indian markets. There is however a good chance that India will soon get the Hyundai Santa Fe that is already in the international markets.
