Inaugural race of Lamborghini Blancpain in Sepang International Circuit

The sensational debut race of the first ever Asia Series for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was held at the Sepang International Circuit at this weekend. Automobili Lamborghini is an Italian supercar manufacturer and the Blancpain are the luxury Swiss watchmakers. The race was being held at Europe since four years and now the Super Trofeo Championship will provide a platform to the individual drivers to compete at the wheel of the bespoke race which is one of the fastest one-make Series races of the world. The race has about 18 teams confirmed from various countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. This weekend’s race showcased the brand’s extreme and best hard core Italian super race cars performing in the two races.
The Super Trofeo racing has a format of 50 minutes practice session and a qualifying race of 35 minutes and there after the two official races of 50 minutes each. Even the practice sessions of the teams can be watched by the spectators of the race. There is a rule of change in the driver within 20 to 30 minutes of the official race which adds an excitement in the mob with teams focusing to be ahead from their competitors. The race has been successful since 2009 European Series. The race has received a recognition in the European circuits as Spa Francorchamps and Monza, the company now with its watch partner will explore some of Asia’s highest-standard international circuits, in Sepang, Fuji, Ordos, Zhuhai, Penbay and in Shanghai for the Grand Finale in November this year. President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that the company is Lamborghini is already well-known for its iconic supercars which are now entering into the motorsports venture and the company is looking forward to the series which are coming up in the next few months.
