The French car maker Renault's Indian subsidiary is planning to export 25,000 units of its upcoming SUV, the Renault Duster to the UK in coming 12-18 months. The Reason behind this is apparent that its Indian manufacturing unit based at Chennai has been successful in giving the cost advantage to the company along with maintaining the quality of the vehicles.
This is not something new to the Indian market, the India based facilities of various global car makers have proven to be wholesome. The Japanese car makers Nissan and Toyota too have started exporting their India-made mid-sized cars. Nissan is planning to trade abroad its Sedan Sunny to western countries, while Toyota too will start transporting Etios to South Africa.
We have reported this earlier too, that the Duster will be sold in UK under the Dacia badge, which is set to launch during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the booking will start from the next week onwards. The duster will be offered in both the petrol and diesel variants, the petrol variant will come powering the similar 1.5-litre engine, which currently houses the Micra, whereas the 1.6-litre petrol engine will be borrowed from the Renault Fluence.
Stay tuned for more updates on the same. Cheers!!
