India-bound Audi A3 prices announced for US

Audi, the German luxury carmaker has announced the pricing for its all-new 2015 A3 sedan for the US market. It has been priced at $29,900 (around Rs. 18 lakh) for the base model. The same car will also come to India by the early 2014 in right hand drive setting. The entry level model gets several advanced features including a panoramic glass sunroof, leather seating surfaces, and bi-xenon headlights.

The A3 sedan will further expand the Audi A3's global lineup. The company will also introduce the A3 Cabriolet, A3 TDI clean diesel, the high performance S3 sedan in 2014, the A3 Sportback e-tron gasoline electric hybrid in 2015. The base model of the all-new premium Audi A3 sedan gets standard features that include Audi signature LED DRLs and taillights, Bluetooth technology, Audi pre sense basic and a panoramic glass sunroof.

It will also be the first vehicle in its segment to offer MMI technology, Audi drive select, 4G LTE connectivity and Bang & Olufsen audio. The new A3 Sedan will be available with four engines - a 1.8L TFSI, 2.0L TFSI, 2.0 TDI clean diesel and a high-output 2.0L TFSI. It will also gets the legendary Audi quattro all-wheel drive which distributes power to all the wheels. All engines are coupled to the standard 6-speed S tronic transmission.

The India-bound Audi A3 will be made available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol model will get a 1.4L TFSI engine that develops 140PS, or the company might also bring the 1.8L TFSI engine that churns out 180PS.

The diesel A3 sedan will feature a 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre diesel engine. In Europe, the vehicle is also available with 105PS, 1.6 TDi engine that also does duty to the Vento, but it is early to comment on the same whether it will come to India or not.
