Jaguar Land Rover Inaugurates Parts Distribution Centre Near Mumbai

Jaguar Land Rover, the wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors has opened a new Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) for the country, in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai. Spread across an area of 70,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility will have regionally-optimized inventory supporting both Jaguar and Land Rover brands. The inventory will be controlled by Jaguar Land Rover's central Inventory Management team.
With the opening of new PDC, the company looks forward to improve the regional supply by strengthening the responsiveness to the local requirements. On the opening of PDC, Rohit Suri, President of Jaguar Land Rover India said, "This Centre will further strengthen our service levels and the investment reinforces JLR' s long term commitment to the Indian market."
According to the automaker, this is the safest warehouses in the country. The centre is equipped with the state-of-the-art fire-fighting system and very early smoke detection apparatus which is far more sensitive than a conventional system. The warehouse also has in-rack sprinklers for better safety, in addition to overhead sprinklers.
Recently, Jaguar has taken wraps off the 2016 XJ saloon. The luxo-barge from Jaguar is now available in the range-topping Autobiography spec. The Autobiography spec XJ will be available only in the LWB (long-wheelbase) avatar. It offers, all-LED headlamps with twin ‘J-Blade’ DRLs and LED tail-lamps. The front bumper now features a larger air-intake and the grille has been redesigned as well. The XJ gains an R-Sport model with new side sills, three-piece front splitter, side power vents and a rear spoiler. The interior houses sports seats, R-Sport steering wheel and treadplates, Jet headliner and piano black trim or carbon fibre. The car will soon head to the Indian shores.
