Compared to the base-spec petrol and diesel Sport variants, the Compass Sport Plus commands a premium of Rs 59,000 and Rs 39,000 respectively. It gets additional features such as dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. The increment in price is a bit steep in the case of petrol version, but not so much in the case of the diesel variant.
Other features on the Compass Sport Plus variant similar to the base-spec Sport variant. So, it gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill start assist, traction control, electronic stability control, disc brakes on all four corners, electronic parking brake, electrically adjustable ORVMs, halogen headlamps and a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
It remains to be seen if Jeep plans to offer rear parking sensors in the Compass Sport. Rear parking sensors are now mandatory on all new cars. If the Compass Sport hasn’t got the update, the variant might have either been discontinued or taken off the shelf temporarily until it gets the update.
The Compass Sport Plus is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Where the diesel Compass is powered by a 2.0-litre unit that produces 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque, the petrol version gets a 1.4-litre engine that puts out 163PS and 250Nm. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual as Jeep is not offering the Sport Plus variant with an automatic transmission yet.
