Jeep Compass Trailhawk Pre-launch Bookings Now Open

Will be the first Compass diesel variant with AT, added features and mechanical changes to be more capable off-road

• Compass Trailhawk will get the BS6 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 9-speed AT.

• Bookings being accepted with a refundable deposit of Rs 50,000 at Jeep dealerships.

• Trailhawk gets new bumpers, increased ground clearance and more advanced 4WD system compared to existing Compass.

• Features on par with current-top spec Limited Plus 4x4 variant.

• Expected to be priced just above Rs 25 lakh when launched in July 2019.

Jeep is about to launch the new Trailhawk variant of the Compass SUV in July 2019. The carmaker has officially opened pre-bookings for the first diesel-AT Compass with a refundable deposit of Rs 50,000 at all its showrooms.

The Trailhawk is the most capable off-roader variant of the Jeep Compass with its revised front and rear bumpers and added features. It will be powered by a BS6 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, producing 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It will be the first BS6-compliant offering in the mid-size SUV segment. As an off-road specialist variant it also gets 4WD low, new ‘Rock’ mode for the Selec Terrain system and additional ground clearance.

In terms of comforts and features, the Trailhawk is specced similarly to the current top-spec Limited Plus 4x4 variant, but with a black leather interior and red accents in the cabin. Jeep is expected to price the Compass Trailhawk upwards of Rs 25 lakh, which is a significant premium over the Limited Plus 4x4 variant that costs Rs 23.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

FCA India, manufacturer of the award-winning Made-in-India Jeep® Compass, today opened bookings for the Jeep® Compass Trailhawk All-wheel Drive (AWD), the most capable compact 4x4 SUV in India. Customers can now book the Trailhawk at a fully refundable INR 50,000 at any of the 82 FCA all-brand showrooms across 70 Indian towns and cities.

The Trailhawk is the first Made-in-India Jeep to have earned the coveted Trail Rated badge, a global benchmark that is given to Jeep 4x4 SUVs which are developed to have much superior off-roading capabilities compared to regular 4x4 Jeep models.

Announcing bookings open, Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “The Trailhawk is a product which is developed for customers looking for a hugely capable and exclusive SUV in the compact category. It  is the first compact SUV to be offered with the 2.0-litre 173 PS, 350 Nm BS VI turbodiesel engine, nearly a year before the new emission norms come into effect and, it is the only compact SUV which comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission.”
