The Kia Seltos Petrol-DCT has a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.5kmpl
Kia India’s only model on offer, the Seltos, recently grabbed the top spot on the sales chart in October. It is available with three engine options- a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit. Kia is offering the 1.4-litre turbo petrol with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch transmission). Here’s what the numbers reveal:
Engine Displacement |
1.4-litre |
Power |
140PS |
Torque |
242Nm |
Transmission |
7-speed DCT |
Claimed fuel efficiency |
16.5kmpl |
Tested fuel efficiency (City) |
11.42kmpl |
Tested fuel efficiency (Highway) |
17.33kmpl |
While the Seltos was unable to meet its claimed fuel efficiency figures in the city, its fuel efficiency on the highway bettered the claimed figure by 0.83kmpl.

We tested the Kia SUV in mixed driving conditions and here’s what we found:
Mileage |
City:Highway (50:50) |
City:Highway (25:75) |
City:Highway (75:25) |
13.76kmpl |
15.34kmpl |
12.48kmpl |
If you are someone who uses the Seltos majorly in the city, expect it to deliver an average mileage of around 12kmpl. In case you use the SUV for travelling outside the city, the overall efficiency figure should go up by about 3kmpl. Meanwhile, for those whose commute is equally split between the city and highway, the fuel economy would hover around 13kmpl.
It is important to note that these figures are just indicative and bound to change depending on the road and car conditions along with the vehicle’s health. If you own a Seltos DCT, do share your findings with us in the comments below.
