We are just a few days away from seeing the facelifted Kia Sonet in its entirety. While we wait, the carmaker has started teasing the updated SUV which gives us glimpses of everything that’s changed. The latest teaser of the new Sonet has been released showing more details.
New Details Observed
The biggest feature revealed by the Sonet facelift’s new teaser is the presence of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), confirmed by the ‘collision warning’ sign in the instrument cluster and auto-emergency braking (AEB). With this, it will be the only other model in its segment after the Hyundai Venue N Line to offer ADAS.
Although only seen partially in the previous teaser, the latest video clip affirms that a Seltos-like digital driver’s display will be available as well. At the back, the Sonet facelift will get a new, connected LED tail lamp setup.
As per the previous teaser, Kia revealed that the 2024 Sonet will have a redesigned grille, longer fang-shaped LED DRLs, repositioned and sleeker LED fog lamps, and new alloy wheels.

Expected Cabin Revisions
On the inside, the Sonet facelift will carry on with the outgoing model’s 10.25-inch touchscreen system while probably sporting a new climate control panel and seat upholstery.
The only other feature addition apart from the digital driver’s display will be a 360-degree camera. Kia will continue to offer the sub-4m SUV with ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, cruise control, a sunroof, and auto climate control.
Besides the inclusion of ADAS, its safety kit will likely have six airbags (now as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, and hill-hold assist.

Familiar Powertrain Options
Kia won’t be making any changes under the hood of the Sonet. The SUV will carry on with the following options:
Specifications |
1.2-litre Petrol |
1-litre Turbo-petrol |
1.5-litre Diesel |
Power |
83 PS |
120 PS |
116 PS |
Torque |

172 Nm |
250 Nm |
Transmission |
5-speed MT |
6-speed iMT/ 7-speed DCT |
6-speed iMT/ 6-speed AT |
It is rumoured that Kia might bring back the option of a regular 6-speed MT with the diesel engine instead of the iMT (manual transmission without the clutch pedal). We recommend waiting for the Sonet facelift to see if it actually turns out to be true.
How Much Will It Cost?
The facelifted Kia Sonet is expected to have a starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale in early 2024. It will renew its rivalry with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and the Maruti Fronx crossover.
