Maruti has launched the 2018 Ertiga in India. It is available in four variants: L, V, Z and Z+, which are priced from Rs 7.44 lakh to Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

- The 2018 Ertiga is based on Maruti's new Heartect platform. At 4395mm X 1735mm X 1690mm, it is 99mm longer, 40mm wider and 5mm taller than its predecessor. It also has a bigger boot that can hold 209 litres of luggage, 74 litres more than its predecessor.
- It is powered by a new 1.5-litre 105PS/138Nm petrol engine that replaces the older 1.4-litre 92PS/130Nm unit. The 1.3-litre 90PS/200Nm diesel engine, however, has been carried forward as such.
- Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 4-speed torque converter unit is also on offer but with the petrol engine only.
- The 2018 Ertiga is more frugal than its predecessor. The claimed fuel economy figures for the new Ertiga are as follows: 19.34kmpl (petrol MT), 18.69kmpl (petrol AT) and 25.47kmpl (Diesel MT).

- For safety, the new Ertiga is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors and rear parking sensors as standard. It also gets ESP and hill hold, but only in the petrol automatic transmission variants.
- Like the Ciaz, the new Ertiga is also equipped with a speed alert system. As the name suggests, it alerts the driver if the speed goes over 80kpmh. It gives two types of warning depending on the speed. From 80kmph-120kmph it beeps twice every 60 seconds and above 120kmph, it beeps continuously.
- Other features on offer include projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, fog lamps, 15-inch alloys, a SmartPlay 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking camera, auto climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front cup holders and reclinable second and third row of seats.

The 2018 Ertiga has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.44 lakh and Rs 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for petrol and diesel, respectively. At this price point, it is about Rs 1.15 lakh more affordable than Mahindra Marazzo, which starts at Rs 9.99 lakh.
The new K15 petrol engine in the Ertiga offers 13% improved power and 6% better torque. It also claims to deliver 10% more mileage.
2nd row seats get one touch recline and slide mechanism for easy ingress and egress.
Longer by 99mm and wider by 40mm. And while wheelbase remains the same legspace in 3rd row has been improved by 70mm.
For added safety, the automatic variants will get ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and hill hold, over the standard safety features.

The new Ertiga is offered in five colour options: Pearl Metallic Auburn Red, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Oxford Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Metallic Silky Silver
Automatic transmission is offered in V and Z variants only
Other features to be on offer include: a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front cup holders, push button start, day/night IRVM, adjustable headrest for all three row of seats and reclinable second and third row of seats

It will be available in four variants L,V,Z and Z+. Unlike the outgoing Ertiga, which was available in five variants: L,L(O),V,Z and Z+
