The Bolero Neo has started reaching dealerships ahead of its expected launch later this month.
The TUV300, which was temporarily discontinued last year, has now been facelifted with a BS6-compliant engine and the ‘Bolero Neo’ nameplate. As part of its update, the SUV has got cosmetic tweaks both on the inside and outside, along with (possibly) new and improved features. New colour options are in the offing as well; the spied model was draped in the Thar’s Rocky Beige.
Spy shots suggest that the Bolero Neo now features a new six-slat chrome front grille, reworked bumpers, restyled headlamp with wrap-around LED DRLs, fog lamps, squared wheel arches, and side fender-mounted indicators. Also, it continues with the side and rear steps and a boot-mounted spare wheel; however, there’s no sign of the roof rails.
Mahindra has also updated the Bolero Neo from the inside. The SUV now features the Thar’s analogue instrument cluster and a second-row armrest. It could also get automatic AC and an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Mahindra Bolero Neo will be powered by the same 100PS/240Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine as the TUV300. The motor is BS6-compliant, of course, and it will get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. An optional AMT could be introduced as well, as seen earlier.
The SUV will be positioned below the XUV300 and could be priced from Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and the upcoming Renault Kiger.
