The updated Marazzo is pricier by Rs 1.26 lakh as compared to the BS4 model. Mahindra has rejigged the entire variant lineup of the MPV. While the base-spec M2 variant remains the same, the carmaker has discontinued the previously offered top-spec M8 variant and replaced the M4 and M6 variants with M4+ and M6+ variants respectively. All variants are offered with both 7- and 8-seater layouts.
With the upgrade, the Marazzo is offered with the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that develops 122PS and 300Nm. It continues to come mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox and still misses out on an automatic option. The carmaker is also offering the updated Marazzo with the Eco mode resulting in a reduced power output of 100PS. As far as its rivals are concerned, both the Maruti MPVs (Ertiga and XL6) are offered with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options. Mahindra’s MPV will also be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (163PS/280Nm) that was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. The carmaker is expected to introduce an AMT option with this petrol engine and pair it with the MPV’s diesel engine as well.
Mahindra has not only upgraded the engine of the Marazzo, but also added a few features to its equipment list. The shuffling of variants has led to the new variants gaining a few features over those offered previously. However, the axing of the earlier top-spec M8 variant has made the Mahindra MPV lose out on some features. For a detailed variant-wise feature list, head here.
The updated Marazzo’s top-spec M6+ variant is cheaper by over Rs 1 lakh than the previously offered top-spec M8 variant. Mahindra’s MPV fights it out with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6 and sits below the Toyota Innova Crysta.
