Mahindra and Mahindra is considered to be India’s largest SUV maker and is now gearing up to launch new car models in next couple of months, which would certainly surprise M&M fanatics. Apparently, five new model launches have been scheduled by Mahindra and Mahindra that could be launched in coming months. This information was revealed by the president of M&M farm equipment and automotive, Mr. Pawan Geonka. The first one to be launched from M&M’s stable would be a minivan that will be based on Mahindra Maxximo platform. This vehicle is expected to be launched in the first quarter of next fiscal year. The new minivan will be launched as a personal passenger car rather than a commercial one.

The next on the list will be the SUV from Ssangyong, Mahindra Rexton followed by next gen Mahindra Reva NXR, which would be an electric vehicle. Reva is likely to arrive by the second quarter of next fiscal year. The firm is currently busy setting up an assembly line for Mahindra Rexton SUV at its manufacturing plant located at Chakan near Pune. Besides Rexton, Ssangyong will also come in India with Korando C, which will be brought to the country through CKD route. The firm is aiming to sell about 500 to 600 units of Rexton SUV every month. The next generation Mahindra Reva NXR would be one of the most impressive models that will be launched by Mahindra and Mahindra. This upgraded model of Reva has been nicely worked upon in terms of performance. A full battery charge will now make Reva NXR run for 160 km, which is double the distance than the older model.

Also, this four seater car will be able to touch the top speed of 1000 km per hour instead of 80 km per hour. Possibly, a new mini SUV will also be launched by Mahindra and Mahindra during the festive season of Diwali 2012. After the immense success of Mahindra XUV 500, it could be assumed that this mini SUV could repeat the victory of XUV 500. The new mini SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 5 to Rs 6 lakh. The last launch from Mahindra comprise of a car, which would be less than 4 meters in length. The sedan is likely to be launched by the end of next fiscal. This will be a sedan, apparently the less than 4 meter version of Mahindra Verito. Considering its length, it will qualify for excise duty advantage of 10%, which would further allow M&M to price it very competitively.
