It is a change almost every car manufacturer is looking at of late and Mahindra and Mahindra is another example. Popularly known as the utility vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra and Mahindra seems to focus on the small car segment for a change. The home grown auto giant is expected to showcase the Mahindra Reva NXR electric car at the Auto Expo 2012 followed soon by a launch early next year. The Reva NXR electric is basically meant to overcome all the drawbacks in the previous generation Reva i car launched ten years back.

The car manufacturer has taken care of every bit of feedback from the consumers to come up with the latest model to leave them speechless this time. The top speed was the biggest sore point in the Revai where the other cars on the road used to stick their tongue to boo the car. The 80 kmph top speed has however seen some improvement to 100 kmph. The other grounds for complaints were the limited interior space and the mileage of the car. Mahindra and Mahindra has taken both the negatives into account. Now, the car stands at a point to deliver a mileage of 160 km with every charge and the interiors of the car have also undergone an improvement to seat four passengers quite comfortably.

The fuel efficiency is unbeatable in the car which translates to Rs 3 for every 9.60 km. This leaves almost every petrol car with an average mileage of 12 kmpl far behind which literally translates to a running cost of Rs 6 for every kilometer. This means, Mahindra and Mahindra has struck gold this time if this is how efficient the Reva NXR electric car will prove to be. Apart from this masterpiece, the auto major will have SsangYong’s two SUVs Rexton, Korando E and Mahindra Xylo Mini making it to the 2012 Auto Expo from its pavilion.
