Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, today went on declaring its new partnership with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), which paved a way to open an electric vehicle (EV) charging facility at the Bangalore Airport. With the new collaboration, BIAL turns out to be the first ever Indian airport to provide this kind of facility. While it is exclusively open for Mahindra e2o customers, and above this there's a discount of 20% on parking charges.
The main factor of providing such infrastructure facility in Bangalore is the encouraging EV market there. While maximum charging is done at home, but still the company has made available 100 charging points at several locations across the city. At every 5kms there is one charging station, which creates a lot of convenience for the customers. To make it more accessible, the EV stations are at shopping malls, Mahindra & Mahindra dealerships, State Bank of India branches and now the most recent at BIAL.
Chetan Maini, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., commented saying that, “We are happy to partner with Bangalore International Airport Limited and appreciate their belief in our vision of the future of mobility. Facilitating free EV charging at the airport will help customers to do affordable airport commutes from various parts of the city without any range anxiety. We look forward to working with the government and other entities to create an EV ecosystem for the adoption of zero emission mobility for cleaner and greener cities.”
Talking about the BIAL, it has always encouraged such initiatives which are driven in direction to create more eco-friendly environment. It strives to operate itself in compliance to all regulatory norms, implement best management techniques and has even shown sensitivity towards environment.
