The Mumbai based Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra, a top performing company of Mahindra Group Ltd, which is was in news last year following its buy out of Renault’s stakes from Mahindra Renault joint venture has another feather added to its hat when the Sri Lankan Police have bought in 137 brand new examples of the most popular Mahindra Scorpio SUV to join their fleet. The Sri Lankan Police are believed to have chosen 485 units of Mahindra Scorpio LX model, which is going to be delivered in separate lots.

The Mahindra Scorpio had made its mark in the SUV segment, an effort made by the Mahindra and Mahindra to delight the consumers by offering an amazing value for money proposition. Apparently, the Mahindra Scorpio is continuing to serve the military and security services with varied models. The new Mahindra Scorpios’ are believed to be the new vehicles used by the Sri Lankan police force and Ministry of Defence (MoD) replacing their former Police flock of vehicles. The exported SUVs are reported to continue with the same 2.2 litre m-Hawk diesel engine and installed with its five-speed manual transmission.
