Mahindra Teases XUV700 Again: SUV To Get Air Filter Technology

The XUV700 will feature several segment-firsts, including ADAS

• The air filter technology will be another segment-first feature on the XUV700.

• Mahindra has already teased a panoramic sunroof, flush-fitting door handles, driver drowsiness detection system, and high beam assist. 

• The XUV700 is further expected to feature a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, auto emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. 

• It will be powered by 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. 

Mahindra has released another teaser of the XUV700, confirming the SUV will get ‘Smart Air Filter’ technology which it claims will filter out 99 percent bacteria and 95 percent viruses, but it has not been tested against coronavirus. 

This will be another segment-first feature for the SUV, including the already teased panoramic sunroof, flush-fitting door handles, high beam assist, and driver drowsiness detection. 

The XUV700 should also feature a 360-degree camera, a twin-display setup for the touchscreen and instrument cluster, a premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, and connected car technology. 

The SUV will also get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) which might include lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot detection with auto emergency braking. 

The XUV700 will be equipped with the Thar’s 150PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 130PS 2.2-litre diesel engines, but in a higher state of tune. Both powertrains should be paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A segment-exclusive all-wheel drive (AWD) will also be optional.

The Mahindra XUV700 will likely be priced between Rs 16 lakh and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.
