Mahindra Thar Variant-Wise Colour Options Revealed

The lower-spec variants of the Thar will only be offered in two of the six total colour options

• Mahindra Thar will be offered in 6 colour options and three trim levels.

• The three trims include entry-spec AX, mid-spec AX (optional) and top-spec LX. 

• It gets the choice of petrol and diesel options, and three types of roofs.

• The AX trim level will only be available in red and black.

• Other variants will get the choice of all colour options.

• New Thar is due to launch on October 2 with prices expected to start from Rs 10 lakh.

The upcoming Mahindra Thar will be offered in a choice of six colour and three roof options. It is due to be launched on October 2 and we already know its variant-wise features. We now know the different colour options for each variant of the new Thar.

Mahindra will offer the new Thar in three variants: entry-spec AX, mid-spec AX Optional and top-spec LX. Each variant gets different roof and powertrain options. It will get a choice of both petrol and diesel engines, each with the option of manual and automatic transmissions. The variant-wise colour options are as follows:

• The Adventure-spec AX and AX(O) variants of the new Thar are only offered in two colours: red and black.

• Nearly all versions of the LX trim get the choice of all six colours. The only exception is the diesel-automatic LX variant with the hardtop which is not offered in black.

The new-gen Mahindra Thar is equipped with features like a 12V accessory socket, remote keyless entry, front power windows, cruise control and roof-mounted speakers. It offers 4WD as standard with a mechanical locking differential, removable doors and the special off-roading telematics with its 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Thar’s 2.0-litre petrol (150/300Nm) and diesel (130PS/300Nm) engines get the choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Mahindra is expected to price the new Thar between Rs 10 lakh and 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Its only direct rival will be the BS6 Force Gurkha, which is also likely to launch by the end of 2020.
