Mahindra has launched the 2019 TUV300 facelift at a starting price of Rs.8.38 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The updated SUV features subtle cosmetic updates along with some additional features. So let’s find out how it differs from the pre-facelift model, which was launched back in September 2015.
Exterior:
Since it is a facelift, not much has changed in the way the TUV300 looks. It just features minor changes. Upfront, the grille is now finished in piano black instead of the body colour in the pre-facelift model. The headlamps are now smoked and feature LED DRLs. The faux skid plate is finished in metallic grey.
At the rear, the story remains similar. The only visible updates include a new X-shaped spare wheel cover and clear lens tail lamps. On the side, the TUV300 facelift comes with new side body cladding, which was not available on the outgoing model.
Interior:
On the inside, the TUV300 facelift looks identical to the pre-facelift model. The only visible change is on the central console, which now gets a piano black finish with silver inserts. The outgoing model used to feature hard-touch plastics in its place. It continues to be a 5+2 seater with folding side facing seats in the third row.
Features:
As far as features are concerned, the TUV300 facelift comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across the range like the pre-facelift SUV. Other features on the TUV300 facelift also remain similar to the previous model, except for the inclusion of reverse parking camera in the T10 and the T10(O) variants. The TUV300 facelift gets front fog lamps, alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt adjustable steering wheel and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, steering mounted controls, and leatherette upholstery. It still misses out features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as well as an auto climate control unit, which have become a staple even in mid-size hatchbacks these days.
Engine:
Just like the model it replaces, the TUV300 facelift is also powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 100PS of power and 240Nm of peak torque with a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the pre-facelift model also had an option of a 5-speed AMT while the updated SUV is a manual-only model now.
Variants and Price:
With the facelift, Mahindra has also updated the variant lineup of the TUV300. The pre-facelift model was available in six variants: T4, T4+, T6, T6+, T8 and T10. The updated SUV, on the other hand, is available in five variants: T4+, T6+, T8. T10 and T10(O).
