Now almost after a decade, we are going to witness the history being repeated once again with the launch of Mahindra Wold SUV (code named W201) speculated to be in September this year.

We are not least bit exaggerating when we say that Mahindra W201 SUV is all set to sweep the Indian auto market in its stride, with its yet expected date for the launch to be September 22nd, 2012. The price of this highly anticipated SUV is likely to be tagged between Rs 10.49 to Rs 12.99 lakhs, which falls under the entry-level SUV segment.

Now for a quick review of Mahindra W201 SUV, it is powered with 2.2 litre CRDe Diesel engine, which again proves to be a blessing to the consumers, with a maximum power output of 140 Bhp and 320 Nm peak torque. The high-end variant is speculated to be deployed with automatic gear version. The Mahindra W201, though mostly likely to come with front-wheel-drive at the time of the launch, is expected to be upgraded to the all-wheel –drive variant in a course of time.

Furthermore, with the Tata Safari Merlin launch expected to occur in September, 2011 with a price tag around Rs 14, 00,000; a stiff competition between the Tata Safari Merlin and Mahindra W201 World SUV is put on the boards.
