Mahindra Witnessed A Fall of 10 per cent in February 2015

The homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra sold 38,033 units in February 2015 as compared to 42,166 units in Feb 2014. The company thus registered a decline of 10 per cent. Talking about the domestic sales, the figure achieved by the company stood at 34,918 units compared to 39,338 units in February 2014, a fall of 11 per cent.
The automaker also shipped 3,115 units in which a growth of 10 per cent is achieved as in Feb 2014, Mahindra exported 2,828 units. In passenger car segment which includes utility vehicles and Verito range, company retailed 18,103 units compared to 19,308 units in February last year.
Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "The auto industry has not seen any major changes in the Union Budget 2015-16. However looking at the overall budget proposals including planned spend on infrastructure and social reforms, we expect positive sentiments going forward. Further, with an expected revision in lending rates in the RBI policy in early April, the industry should see better times ahead. At Mahindra we are happy with our performance in Exports and the HCV segment where we have seen good growth."
While in a move to expand its model lineup, Mahindra launched the limited XUV500 Xclusive Edition at Rs 14.48 Lacs (Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Xclusive edition is only available on the top-end variant and boasts premium features like electric sunroof, convenient reverse camera, voice messaging system, sporty aluminium pedals, stylish grey alloy wheels, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat (optional), illuminated scuff plates and anti-pinch driver window.
