Despite many vehicles, which were showcased at the show, many of which were from the global auto giants; Mahindra XUV 500 was successful in attracting its own share of response. Mahindra XUV 500 was developed at the Mahindra’s manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune incorporating the state-of-the-art technology to place above the rest of the cars from Mahindra’s stable. The XUV 500 had benefited from the low production costs, with the help of which, the Indian auto major had placed the vehicle at a competitive price range of Rs 10.8 lakh– Rs 11.5 lakhs. The XUV 500 price range in South Africa is ZAR 2,39,900 and ZAR 2,94,900. After the tremendous response of 10,000 bookings, M&M had to hold further bookings from October 11th, due to the supply constraints at the plant.
