Mahindra XUV 500 SUV has garnered over 6,000 bookings within a week of its launch and Mahindra dealers are already declaring waiting periods on the XUV 500 SUV between 2-3 months depending on the variant of the SUV. It seems that Mahindra & Mahindra is struggling to meet the increasing demand for its product. Mahindra XUV 500 priced in the very affordable range of Rs 10.80 lakh-Rs 12.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) is a great value-for-money proposition, which no one wants to miss on.

The cheetah-style SUV has gained popularity among SUVs in India like forest fire even amid a slowdown in auto sector. Mahindra has already delivered over 1,500 Mahindra XUV 500 SUVs to Mahindra dealers across India even before the launch of its flagship SUV to meet the expected demand. However, the craze for the SUV due to its exclusive price range and features is not ending. M&M can produce 2,000 units of the XUV 500 SUV every month from Chakan and can ramp it up to an additional capacity of 1,000 units possible within the next three months. But for the time being, the company is putting its customers on hold.

Another reason for such hysteria about this SUV is the news that M&M has kept the price of XUV 500 low only initially and in a few months, Mahindra will, in most likelihood, raise these prices. Such news is enough to trigger off audiences in a price sensitive country like India. This cult has rendered M&M to bag a whopping 6,000 bookings in just 2 days. To have the feel of its magnitude, one can compare the combined monthly sales of SUVs like Tata Sumo, Tata Safari, Tata Aria and Tata Venture which stood at 5,308 in September. Tata Motors is the closest rival of M&M in producing SUVs in India. One SUV from Mahindra is enough to undermine the sales of 4 SUVs by Tata Motors.
