We recently bought to our readers a news piece entitled “What's Next for Mahindra & Mahindra After XUV500?” in which we went on to talk about the popularity of the Mahindra Xylo followed by an even greater popularity for the Mahindra XUV500 and what Mahindra would do next. Well the cat is out of the bag; bookings for the Mahindra XUV500 AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) are up and active. Yes, you can now book your very own XUV500 AWD.
But wait, while you can avail this option from any of the M&M dealerships across the country, you will have to pay an initial amount of Rs. 40,000. What remains to be seen is, given the popularity of the XUV500, will Mahindra be able to keep up with the stream of orders pouring in? From what we’ve heard and seen, Mahindra is quite keen on stepping up the production in its Chakan facility in Pune in an effort to keep the waiting time to a minimum. The bad news regarding the AWD XUV500 is that customers may have to wait for as long as 2-3 months before deliveries start taking place.
Now with the new AWD option, the XUV500 is expected to offer competition to newly released favorites such as the Tata Safari Storme, Tata Aria and of course the older names like the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
