Maruti Eeco launched at Auto Expo

Maruti today has revealed Maruti Eeco, yet another addition to its pavilion at the Auto Expo. The car has been brought in the C segment especially designed for the Indian roads. Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi commented on its launch that they had introduced Maruti Eeco to satisfy the consumers who aspire for spacious and comfortable car. Maruti Eeco has been revealed along with three variants 5 Seater Standard, 5 Seater AC and 7 Seater Standard. Maruti officials have announced its commercial launch by April2010. The 5 Seater Standard will come with a price tag of Rs 2.59 lakhs while the 5 Seater Ac will be priced at Rs 2.89 lakhs. The 7 Seater Standard will be available for Rs 2.75 lakhs. These prices are ex showroom prices of Delhi.
Maruti Eeco is powered by 1.2L, 1200cc petrol engine with DSA transmission which will deliver maximum power of 73BHP at 6000rpm ans maximum torque of 101Nm at 3000rpm.This advance petrol engine complies with BS IV (Bharat Stage IV) emission norms which makes it the fourth vehicle from Maruti stable to meet this norm. The car has fuel efficiency of 15.1 kmpl which is ARAI( Automotive Research Association of India)certified. To impart good stability to the car it has features such as a turning radius of 4.5 meters, wheel base of 2350mm and ground clearance of 160mm. Maruti Eeco is equipped with digital meter cluster for easy readability.
The safety features of Maruti Eeco include headlamp leveling, side impact beams, child lock for sliding doors and windows, seat belts for all seats and high mount stop lamp. Maruti Eeco also complies with ELV standards besides BS IV norms. The car flashes exciting colors like Metallic Glistening Grey, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Midnight Black, Metallic Blue Blaze, Superior White and Bright Red. The car is adorned with biege and dual tone interiors and stylish dual tone instrument panel. The car has sliding doors to facilitate easy entry and easy exit. With its flexi seating it has come up with five and seven seater option
The company also unveiled concept electric version of the Maruti Eeco, named Eeco Charge at the grand show.
